It's already happened in my city, but not in the truest sense of "classic
rock", and it's not a bad thing actually. The station I listen to mostly is
called "Classic Rock C93 FM" and their slogan goes something like "It
doesn't matter if it's been around for 20 years or 20 seconds, if it rocks,
then it's on C93 FM." The cool thing is, you can listen to this station all
day and not have to listen to any crap. Plus they are guaranteed to play a
U2 song AT LEAST once everyday, sometimes up to 5 different tracks. They
have things like "Two for Tuesday" and "Triple Play Thursday" where you get
a whole string of U2 songs one after the other. Come to think of it, U2 seem
to dominate these special slots somewhat. I wonder if there are some loyal
U2 fans at this station? And what's even better is that they don't only play
the pre-1990 U2 stuff. I'll often here "Lemon" or "Stay", or even
"HMTMKMKM". I must admit though, I haven't heard a single song from "Pop"
since a while after it's release. Oh well, I guess it just isn't considered
"classic" quite yet.
