Absolute B****cks

There is NO difference between a Greatest Hits album and a Best Of album.

U2 most likely had no hand in selecting the songs on this album (the record
company usually selects the most famous, easily digestible tracks from the
band's back catalogue - usually most are singles).

This IS 'blatant commercialism,' and has no connection with U2 'representing
their best output in the last decade.'

I wish people would stop trying to defend what is essentially a cynical
marketing ploy, stereotypical of rich rock bands, and look forward to U2's
future NEW material.

The scheme could be a disaster. Most non-U2 fans may witness the publicity
for the GH album and think that the band is effectively over, not realising
that U2 are working on new material now. The album may increase interest in
the back catalogue, but may reduce anticipation/support for subsequent
releases.

ITS VERY SIMPLE

Tim.
