Hello all the WIRE,
I am sick and tired of reading this list and seeing some of you bitch
and moan about what U2 is doing now, or not doing now. I am not
referring to all of you, because most of you are great! But for those
of you who bad mouth U2 about the Best Of albums, get over it! If you
were true fans you would support the guys in everything they do! U2 has
been around for 20 years and released 10 albums. They have given us
numerous singles with great B-sides to listen to. They have given us
several videos. And let's not forget all of the memories! Is this not
good enough for you? Do you want U2 to just go to the studio all of the
time and come out with so-so albums, or would you rather them take their
time and create the great music that we are used to? These guys just
came off of a year long tour around the world, let them rest! Just
because they are coming out with a Best Of album does not mean they are
finished and can't created anymore! If someone gave you $50 million for
something that hasn't even come out yet, your telling me you wouldn't
accept it, PLEASE! Some of you are saying that U2 is selling out, I
think not! It was not even U2's idea to release the Best Of album, the
record companies wanted it. And even if it was U2's idea, I think it is
great! They have so many great tunes, why not put some on them on one
album(or 3)? If that is what people want, let them have it.
If some of you don't want a Best Of album, don't buy it, but don't down
the band that you say you love! Why don't we all just support the band
in whatever they do? I know that I am a true fan, I collect anything I
can get my hands on, I can't get enough U2. I never bad mouth U2, for
whatever reason. Some of the topics of discussion on the WiRe are
rediculous, who's gay and who's not, why are they doing this, why are
they doing that, U2 is finished, who's the next U2(nobody), and several
other meaningless topics. All I ask is that we all be supportive!
If I have stepped on some of your toes, TOUGH! And for those true fans
who agree with me, hail hail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everyone just be patient, out boys will be back with new material in the
near future, and if not, they have left us with the greatest music and
great memories that no one can ever take from us! Cherish them(U2)
while we can!!!!!!!!!
