All I Want Is You video - one persons opinion...

ok...ok so this is stepping back in time, but sometimes you have to
first leave the shore before you can find land. To me the AIWIY video is
about the un-obtainable. As for who dies in the end.... well the implied
ending is that the woman dies - but if you ask me it is love that lies
in the coffin. And the ring, as it drowns in the dirt, is the symbol of
the vertically challenged guys love. He is in awe of the acrobat - so in
love with his angel without wings... But in the end the ring, a ring
she'll never wear, is left lying in the dirt. The band, although they
appear - are in fact angels. They move in and around the circus - anyone
who has seen Wings Of Desire (or failing that City Of Angels) will
understand.... There for the dwarf, feeling his pain - trying to absorb
it... But something's can't be taken from those who can't let go.

it's a video that brings a tear to the eye... because sometimes the most
beautiful thing in the world is a million miles away - when right in
front of you, her voice is lost in the wind, but you close your eyes and
she's all you can see. To me it's about love, not the plastic, wrap
around, meaningless, throwaway kind - but the type that caresses your
soul but slips into the night after falling through the day. Sometimes
you can scream into the silence but only hear her name...

Why an acrobat? Well it says it all really - high above but right beside
you. Always out of reach. A safety net to catch her if she falls - but
when she falls in the face of love there's no one who can catch her. Her
spirit soars out the tent and into the wind, or is it love leaving the
place it never was? or is it everything the little guy beLIEved in
slipping through his fingers and out the door? or is it all of them? or
none of them.... I for one can relate...
i think if you don't get the video then you've missed the point. But
then again, what the fuck would i know.. *laughs*
take care,
tim
