After reading all the debate on the GH album, I think one small
point is in order. No one, and that means *no one* on wire is qualified
to say absolutely that they know what U2 is going to do. We are fans, we
can debate the merits of a greatest hits album. It just burns me up when I
read people saying that U2 is not going to do such and such because "it's
not like them". I'm not Bono or Larry, and no one else is either, except
for them. We can debate, we can argue, and we can dream, but we can't say
that we know what they will do, because we don't, and anyone who thinks
they know what U2 will do becuase they are the greatest U2 fan ever,
needs to take a step back and get some perspective.
And I truly apologize if that sounds really angry, but com'on!
I myself haven't a clue what their going to do, but if I had one wish, it
would be for three things (there's an oxymoron for ya):
(1) a box set of all their singles and unreleased material (including
every remix known to U2), 'cause I'm tired of spending way too much money
and having to search all over for those elusive recordings that I just
HAVE to have.
(2) a double disk GH live album (hey, you couldn't get a better mix tape).
and finally (3) a new album by Christmas.
<sigh>
I guess if I'm going to dream, it might as well be out loud.
