I don't give a damn that U2 might not be as popular today as they were
ten or five years ago. I'm still a fan, I have the records, they wiill
continue to put more of these out, and now I even get to read all of
these cool U2 Web sites! I *do* give a damn about bad press, though. The
American media is so tabloidized that it's about as credible as those
stupid headlines in the National Enquirer. Egads, it's garbage! Plus,
God knows, I've been fans of groups who never broke out of "cult" status
.....heck, I didn't start listening to Roxy Music until they'd broken up
for good after doing a terrific album called "Avalon"!! :-) They never
really broke through in the U.S.
Oh, a "Greatest Hits" CD. Why not? It will familiarize the new fan with
selections from all of their past albums, and then New Fan X will want
those CD's! It's too bad that all of that politics is going on with the
record company but that's life. My first U2 album was "Under a Blood Red
Sky" because I wanted to hear songs from Boy, October, and War. I ended
up buying all of these albums!
Pax,
Patricia
