Good lord! What is all this garbage about U2 being broke? At the risk of
being overly sarcastic let's do some math:
U2's accountant's losses on bad investments - 15 million $US (source: radio
news and Wall of Sound)
U2's assets - 150 million $US EACH (including Paul) = 750 million $US
(source: this month's Q magazine)
$750,000,000 - $15,000,000 = $735,000,000 = not a problem
$15 million is peanuts in big business (music or otherwise). I suspect this
story got so much press attention because the far more serious problems
Sting had recently with his accountant are still relatively fresh in
people's minds.
Anyway, I don't think we need to take up a collection yet ;)
