There is (or maybe was) a Quicktime movie on www.gavinfriday.com
of Gavin Friday, Bono's best friend and big influence, at a
big private fashion show he performed at. It was of him shadow
boxing down the fashion runway and it looked just like Bono's
entrance in Popmart. Especially since Gavin and Bono look a little
alike. This was in 1996.
Also, I've seen photos off and on of Bono in boxing gear
at a gym since about 1983. Bono (and Gavin) know how to
box. Maybe the movie, Raging Bull, has some influence and
maybe not. I tend to think he picked up the idea from
Gavin's performance at that fashion show.
He picks up a lot of ideas from Gavin. :)
