Filed under: News & Rumors by U2Exiteer SPun2U Add comments"If Christian leaders ever needed to be equipped for the challenges in this ever-changing landscape, it’s now. The Leadership Summit provides a unique opportunity for Christ-following leaders to take the next step in their continual development," said Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Community Church and best-selling author of The Purpose Driven Life, in a released statement.
"See reality not as it is but how it might be," reads the theme of the 11th annual Leadership Summit. The worldwide event is designed to strengthen and sharpen leadership skills and cast new visions among summit participants.
An exclusive videocast interview with Bono will highlight the second day of the summit. Honored as TIME Magazine’s 2005 Person of the Year, Bono has become a leading face and voice in drawing attention to the extreme poverty and AIDS pandemic in Africa. Both a rock star and also a leading advocate in the ONE Campaign and DATA (Debt AIDS Trade Africa), Bono will discuss his efforts in Africa during the interview.
Other featured leadership experts include James Meeks, Illinois senator and pastor of Salem Baptist Church; Jim Collins, co-author of Built to Last and Good to Great; Andy Stanley, pastor of North Point Community Church; Peg Neuhauser, a management and organizational consultant; and Patrick Lencioni, president of The Table Group, Inc.
Following live broadcasts, the Leadership Summit will be videocasted to an additional 52 cities worldwide in late September and early October.
"The Leadership Summit is a vital part of every leader’s arsenal," said leadership development expert John Maxwell. "In today’s fast-paced world, the stakes are higher than ever. If you’re serious about leadership, those three days in August will be blocked out on your calendar every year."
The Willow Creek Association, host of the annual Leadership Summit, is a growing multi-denominational worldwide network of more than 12,000 churches from 90 denominations and 35 countries.
